The Bicol Region recorded an impressive 4.4 million tourist arrivals in 2024, as reported by the Department of Tourism (DOT-5). This achievement met the region's target and generated a total of PHP3.2 billion from domestic visitors and PHP103 million from foreign tourists.

The top foreign markets included the United States with 5,097 visitors, followed by China and Australia. Iconic destinations such as Mayon Volcano, Calaguas in Camarines Norte, Palumbanes in Catanduanes, and Ticao in Masbate drew strong interest, with cruise ships adding to the influx since 2023.
DOT-5 highlighted the role of exceptional service as a game changer, training over 4,800 frontliners to ensure memorable tourist experiences. The agency also unveiled plans to enhance infrastructure, ecotourism, marketing, and river tourism to sustain growth. By 2028, Bicol aims to reach 8.5 million tourist arrivals and boost job opportunities by 15%, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination.
