The MICHELIN Guide has officially arrived in the Philippines, marking a significant milestone in the nation's culinary history. The guide's team of anonymous inspectors has commenced evaluating restaurants in Metro Manila, Cebu, and nearby provinces such as Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite, in preparation for the 2026 edition. This inaugural selection aims to highlight the vibrant and diverse culinary scenes in the Philippines, showcasing local and international influences.

MICHELIN Guides International Director Gwendal Poullennec emphasized the excitement surrounding the Filipino culinary scene, praising the country's deep-rooted culinary traditions and openness to global influences. He noted the impressive range of dining experiences in Manila and Cebu, with special mention of local delicacies like lechon for its "perfectly crisp skin and flavorful, tender meat."
Since its inception in 1900 by the Michelin tire company, the MICHELIN Guide has continued to guide travelers and food enthusiasts to the best restaurants worldwide. The guide's universal criteria for selection include ingredient quality, cooking technique mastery, harmony of flavors, personality of the cuisine, and menu consistency.
