Monde Nissin Corporation, the company behind the Lucky Me! brand, has pledged to gradually reduce the salt content in its noodle products as part of the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA). This reduction will be done gradually to ensure that the taste of the noodles remains unaffected.

Monde Nissin is one of the 13 signatories of the Manila Declaration, which outlines commitments covering environmental sustainability, food safety, social issues, and nutrition and health. Among these is the gradual reduction of salt in its products.
Henry Soesanto, Monde Nissin's CEO and executive vice president, stated that while the company has already reduced the salt content in its noodles, it will continue to do so gradually to prevent any noticeable difference in flavor that might deter consumers. He emphasized the importance of making these changes gradually to ensure that the taste of the noodles remains appealing.
Soesanto also highlighted the need for consumer education on the dangers of excessive salt intake. By informing consumers about the health risks associated with high salt consumption, the company hopes to help people adjust their taste buds to healthier options.
Lucky Me! remains one of the leading instant noodle brands in the Philippines, with its popular dry noodles and soup noodles, including the Pancit Canton product. Soesanto pointed out that the salt intake from instant noodles is relatively small compared to overall dietary consumption, with Filipinos consuming an average of 40 packs of instant noodles per year.
Monde Nissin's subsidiaries include Monde Nissin Singapore Pte. Ltd. (MNSPL), Monde M.Y. San Corp., and Monde Nissin International Investments Ltd. MNSPL fully owns Monde Nissin (UK) Limited, which controls Marlow Foods Limited, the manufacturer of meat alternative products, as well as Monde Nissin New Zealand Ltd., and 56.43% of Monde Nissin Thailand Co. Ltd.
Monde Nissin Corporation's commitment to reducing salt content in its noodle products is a significant step towards promoting healthier eating habits. By gradually reducing salt content and educating consumers about the dangers of excessive salt intake, the company aims to make its products healthier without compromising taste. This approach will help consumers adjust their taste buds to healthier options and promote better overall health.
