Skin Magical couple launched milk tea business

After successfully putting up Skin Magical, probably one of the fastest growing distributors of beauty products in the Philippines, the husband-and-wife team of Jerry and Rogelyn “Ghie” Pangilinan have ventured into another business – to bring authentic Taiwanese milk tea to the country.

During one of their family trips to Taiwan, Ghie, who is a big milk tea fan, and her team thought that it would be a good idea to give her fellow Filipinos the chance to sample and enjoy authentic milk tea with ingredients sourced straight from Taiwan.

She named their milk tea business “Tea Talk” and opened her first store in Morong, Rizal on August 11, 2019. To date, she currently has five branches nationwide, with the latest one located in the vicinity of SM East Ortigas in Pasig. She also has plans to widen Tea Talk’s reach further in 2021.

Prior to launching their own line of skincare products, Jerry was an overseas Filipino worker while Ghie was trying to help make ends meet by starting a few businesses that did not do well. Ghie’s first try in the skincare products business was through Speaks G. Something happened along the way which made the couple lose everything that they worked for. They literally had to start from zero because they lost all their savings.

A manufacturer friend helped the couple pick up the pieces by advising them to rebrand their business and provided them with rebranded products on a consignment basis. Ghie and Jerry’s line of skincare products, which they called Skin Magical was born in 2015 with the help of their friend.

In a period of five years, Skin Magical had over 200 distributors and over 50,000 resellers nationwide and even abroad. They were able to overcome all their problems and have begun reaping what they had sown.

“Together with my team, I can really better balance my time between Skin Magical and Tea Talk and I am truly thankful that both are doing well,” Ghie said.

She has tapped the services of Ivana Alawi and Vice Ganda to be Tea Talk’s brand ambassadors. “We want to have Tea Talk branches all over the country and the only way to do that is through franchising,” Ghie said. “I would like to invite everyone to invest in a Tea Talk franchise because we have laid out a strong and solid business structure with tremendous marketing and advertising support.”

“You will be proud of our product because of its authentic milk tea taste from Taiwan, the home of the original milk tea,” she added.
