Tourism Secretary Frasco Leads Philippine Delegation at WTTC Global Summit in Australia

Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Philippines represented the country at the 24th World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Perth, Western Australia, on Wednesday, October 9.


Frasco participated as a key panelist in a session titled “What is the Vintage?: The Role of Food & Wine Tourism,” where she was joined by industry leaders, including David Burgess, CEO of Miles Partnership, Dale Tilbrook of Dale Tilbrook Experiences, and Alexandra Burt, Co-founder of Voyager Estate. The session was moderated by AM&A CEO Anita Mendiratta.

With the theme “Ancient Land; New Perspectives,” the summit opened with a cultural performance that celebrated Perth’s rich heritage, positioning the city as a premier tourism destination. The WTTC summit serves as the world’s leading platform for tourism and travel, gathering global decision-makers to collaborate and discuss the sector's future.

Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Ma. Hellen De La Vega, alongside DOT officials, accompanied Secretary Frasco to the prestigious event, where key figures such as WTTC Chair Greg O’Hara, Western Australia Premier Roger Cook, and WTTC President and CEO Julia Simpson addressed participants during the opening ceremony at Crown Towers Perth.
